Your privacy on Foodjin

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Foodjin is a marketplace platform that connects you with independent halal vendors and independent delivery providers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with so your order can be fulfilled. Your trust is part of how we built Foodjin.

What we collect

How we use it

Who we share it with

Foodjin facilitates your order; it does not prepare food or carry out delivery. To complete an order we share only what is necessary with:

These vendors and providers are independent businesses that handle the data they receive under their own privacy practices. Access ends when the order is complete.

How we may use your data

We use the personal information described above to operate, improve, personalize, promote, and amplify the Foodjin marketplace -- including analytics and research; marketing, advertising, promotional, and other amplification activities for Foodjin and our vendors across our own and third-party channels; and to feature ratings, reviews, and content you submit. Our use of your personal information is carried out under this policy and is subject to the privacy rights described below.

You grant Foodjin a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use the content you submit (such as ratings, reviews, and photos) and to create, use, and share aggregated or de-identified data -- which no longer identifies you -- for any business purpose, including marketing and amplification. We may continue to use submitted content and aggregated or de-identified data even after you close your account.

Sensitive information

Some data, such as your precise location, is treated as sensitive under several state laws. We collect precise location only while the app is open and only to provide the service (finding nearby vendors and routing deliveries). We do not access your precise location when the app is closed, and we do not use sensitive information to infer characteristics about you.

What we won't do

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, and Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email support@foodjin.org or use the in-app privacy controls. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law (generally 30-45 days). You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. If our marketing or amplification activities qualify as "sharing" for targeted advertising under your state's law, you may opt out by emailing support@foodjin.org or through the in-app privacy settings. Where required, we honor recognized browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control.

Children

Foodjin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them (the federal COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@foodjin.org and we will delete it.

Communications

By providing your phone number and email, you consent to receive transactional messages (order, account, and delivery notices) by call, text, and email. We send marketing messages only where permitted by law; you can opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP (under the federal TCPA) and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each message (under the federal CAN-SPAM Act). Message and data rates may apply.

Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, and we retain it only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as required by law. No system is perfectly secure.
