Delete your Foodjin account
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Foodjin is a halal lifestyle marketplace -- food, restaurants, grocery, clothing, and services. You can ask us to delete your Foodjin account and the personal data attached to it at any time, whether you are a customer, a vendor (a "Jin"), or a delivery partner. You do not need the app installed to make the request.
Delete from inside the app
If you have the Foodjin customer app installed, this is the quickest way:
- Open the app and go to Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm on the prompt. You are signed out straight away and the account can no longer be logged into.
If you are a vendor (Jin) or delivery partner, the same option is in the Foodjin Partner app under More → Delete account. Because these accounts carry payouts and settlements, the app will stop you and tell you what is outstanding if you still have an open order or an unpaid balance -- see "Before you delete" below.
Request deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email our support team and we will action it for you.
Or write to support@foodjin.org with the subject line "Account deletion request" and include:
- the mobile number registered to the account, and/or the email address registered to it;
- which app and role the account is for -- customer, vendor (Jin), or delivery partner;
- a confirmation that you are the owner of the account.
We use those details only to locate and verify the account. Sending the request from the email address on the account is the fastest way for us to verify you; if we cannot match the request to an account, we may ask you for more information before we act on it.
Before you delete
An account cannot be deleted while it still has business to settle. Please complete or resolve these first:
- In-flight orders -- an order that is placed, accepted, being prepared, or out for delivery must be completed or cancelled first.
- An unsettled balance -- for vendors and delivery partners, any pending payout, or any amount owed to Foodjin, has to be resolved before the account is closed.
If your account is in either state when you contact us, we will tell you what is outstanding and delete the account once it is clear.
What is deleted, and what we keep
Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want to use Foodjin again afterwards, you will need to create a new account.
| Deleted | Kept, with personal details removed |
|---|---|
|
Your name Your email address Your phone number Your saved addresses Your profile photo Your saved payment methods Your device and notification tokens |
Order and transaction records, which we are required to keep for legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Personal details are removed or anonymized so the records no longer identify you. For vendors (Jins) and delivery partners, payout and settlement records are kept on the same basis. |
Once deletion is complete, the account can no longer be logged into.
Timeframe
Deletion from inside the app is actioned immediately on confirmation, for customers, vendors (Jins) and delivery partners alike. A request sent to support@foodjin.org is actioned once we have verified you own the account, and in any event within the time required by law (generally 30-45 days). The order, transaction, and payout records described above are retained for as long as the law requires us to keep them, in anonymized form.
Your other privacy rights
Deletion is one of several rights you may have -- you can also ask to access your data, correct it, or receive a portable copy. Our Privacy Policy sets out the full picture: what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how to exercise each right.
